[Rawstudio-users] A General Question

I am a fairly recent immigrant ... from the wonderful world of
Windows ;) .... to the Linux world and so still feeling my feet among
the dcRaw program processing options.

I am using DigiKam as a file management and basic overall image
processing system and using CinePaint for localized and speciality
finishing work. Both of these two programs provide for raw conversion
and DigiKam will provide some rather primitive raw batching.

I have done a fair amount of testing of my full process from raw through
to final print (with a reasonable range of images) using both the above
programs as well as 'RawStudio', 'RawTherapee' and 'ufRaw' as a part of
the process. In general I am finding that my "end-product" shows very
little, if any, difference regardless of the raw converter used.

For my money, all raw converters need post processing ... period. Some
converters take more of the overall processing burden .. some less.

So ... a question. Whet is it that attracts users to RawStudio ? .. How
do others view the field. Is there something here in RawStudio that puts
it ahead of other options. I really would like some general feedback.

David
